ARCHIVED - “The Winter Beach” returns to Orihuela this spring
33 different activities including surfing and canoeing begin on 27th March
The fifth edition of “The Winter Beach” will be returning to the coastline of Orihuela this Saturday 27th March, the event including 33 different sporting and aquatic activities organised by the Department of Beaches.
These activities will take place at Cala Cerrada and La Caleta in Cabo Roig on Saturdays and Sundays and, as a new addition this year, participants will be able to try their hands at surfing at Cala Cerrada from 3rd April until 29th May. This activity is aimed at beginner and intermediate surfers aged 6 and up, who only need to bring a wetsuit to participate.
Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays from 27th March until 13th June people over the age of 8 will be able to enjoy paddle surfing and canoeing from 11 am, the only requirement again being that participants bring their own wetsuit.
All of the activities are completely free and the calendar and scheduled activities will be updated every week on the Facebook pages of the Department of Beaches and the Department of Youth.
Unfortunately, the Yoga and Pilates activities which had been planned at La Caleta during the event have been postponed due to the current restrictions.
