ARCHIVED - Barcelona concert for 5,000 shows the way forward says nightlife sector
Two test concerts have been held in Barcelona, where guests were tested for coronavirus beforehand.
Spain Nightlife, the association for the nighttime leisure sector, has demanded a roadmap for easing of coronavirus restrictions and more trials like the Love of Lesbian concert, which was held at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona at the weekend with 5,000 attendees.
In a statement, the association has yet again claimed that the sector is a safe one and asked for it to be allowed to reopen with appropriate safety measures.
“We believe that the time has come to start to relax the restrictions, as the sector has now endured more than a year of total closure with hardly any financial aid,” the association stressed, pointing out that the Sant Jordi concert and another held at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona in December “prove that attendees’ health can be protected” at these events.
All fans attending downloaded an app, input contact details and booked a time for a rapid covid test on the day of the concert, then wore masks throughout the event.
