ARCHIVED - Updated GVA+Salud health service app in the region of Valencia provides new and improved services
The app now allows access to current and future prescriptions, doctor’s appointments, vaccine receipts and more
The Ministry of Universal and Public Health in the region of Valencia has been working towards digitalizing the regional health system for some time and has now released a new and updated version of the GVA+Salud mobile application.
The new version is available for Android and iOS phones and has already been installed by over a million people. The update was developed in collaboration with patients and doctors alike, in order to take into account different perspectives and identify various needs within the health system. The app also hopes to de-bureaucratize the system.
Identification via the SIP card number has now been replaced by two new ways to access the app in order to prevent fraudulent uses and protect personal data. The app is now accessible through the Cl@ve system or by scanning the bar code on the SIP card, which allows users to consult their appointments in primary care centres as well as in speciality centres and outpatient consultations in hospitals.
In addition, the update allows users to see current and future pharmaceutical prescriptions without having to scan the prescription document.
Another feature is that the app now allows people to follow family members' surgeries using a QR code provided by the medical centre: a service that will be gradually implanted across the region.
Furthermore, a vaccination receipt or “passport” can now be downloaded through the Covid vaccine section of the app and contact details on the SIP card can also be changed using the GVA+Salud app.
