ARCHIVED - Aguilas animal refuge increases adoptions this year
So far in 2021, over 200 animals have been rehomed in the municipality of Águilas, Murcia
The animal refuge, Aguiproan, based in the municipality of Águilas has revealed that the number of pet adoptions continues to grow and, so far this year, 233 animals have been adopted from this centre.
This refugee collaborates regularly with the Town Hall in Águilas and their animal collection services, who have delivered 189 dogs and 215 cats in total to the animal home this year. The cats are mainly from street feline colonies and, after they have had a check-up and been sterilized, they are released back into their area.
During a recent visit to the animal refuge, the Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, expressed how important the work carried out by the Aguiproan volunteers is and congratulated the president of the association on the increase in adoptions.
The visit also served to evaluate the possibility of installing a pet cemetery at the refuge, something which is already being worked on and will hopefully come to fruition next year.
