ARCHIVED - Aguilas demands new roundabout at the Calabardina junction
The Mayor has once again called on the Regional Government to build the promised roundabout at the intersection of the RMD14 and RMD15 roads
The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, together with the spokesperson for the Government Team, Cristóbal Casado, has once again demanded that the Regional Government build a roundabout at the intersection of the RMD14 and RMD15 roads.
Mayor Moreno has underscored that the Regional Ministry of Public Development in Murcia committed to building this roundabout seven years ago, and they already have the project ready. The Town Hall in Águilas has even announced the transfer of the land in order to start work, but construction continues to be delayed.
“The construction of the roundabout at the junction of Calabardina and Marina de Cope is vital given its dangerous nature,” said Mr Casado, who also pointed out the disadvantage for the cycle lane of the continued delay in the construction of the roundabout. “Currently there is a small stretch – the one that runs parallel to this junction – which has not been paved because the project of the Autonomous Community, announced but not executed, also includes this action.”
To conclude, the mayoress urged the regional government to provide the necessary funds in its budget to be able to carry out this necessary work, which is also a commitment made by the different councillors to the residents of the area.
