Click HereThe plans have been presented in Águilas this week for an enlargement and improvement at the swimming pool in the Polideportivo Municipal sports complex which will make it possible to hold ranking competitions at the venue once the Real Federación Española de Natación has confirmed that all necessary specifications are met.
When work on the pool originally started a few months ago defects were found in the basic structure, and rather than continue with a repair which could not be fully guaranteed to be successful the decision was made to rescind the original contract and design a new plan of action. Thus, the new works contract will be put out to tender in October.
The revised plans include widening the pool so that it contains eight lanes rather than the current six, and at the same time making it deeper to meet the Spanish Federation standards. Stands for spectators are also to be installed with a capacity to seat 100 people, while other equipment to be updated includes the water treatment system and the general state of repair of the building.
