ARCHIVED - Alicante launches Practice Slowshopping campaign to boost local trade
The initiative to promote shops and businesses in Alicante's Quintana commercial area will run until January 2022
Alicante businesses have teamed up with the city council to promote an experience-oriented and calmer shopping approach whilst giving local traders a welcomed boost.
In conjunction with the local authority, the Association of Traders in Quintana – a commercial area in Alicante city – have launched a 'Practice Slowshopping' campaign to highlight 'calmer and more personal' alternatives to buying online or in large shopping centres.
"The new campaign aims to promote this commercial area in Quintana to bring citizens closer to shopping, leisure and hospitality, creating an innovative campaign which aims to enjoy shopping in a calm way," explained Councillor for Commerce and Hospitality, Lidia Lope.
Meanwhile, the traders' association said the aim is to "make it known that in the centre of Alicante, between the Plaza de los Luceros and the Central Market, there is an alternative shopping area: Your Slowshopping area, your alternative area: Zona Quintana."
"Faced with the digital era in which we live, the Quintana zone proposes, through this campaign, to practice the SLOW movement. The knowledge of our products and our advice makes the shopping experience unique and personal. Take your time and shop with peace of mind," they added.
The campaign is being publicised on the side of Alicante city buses on lines nine and 22 which stop in and around Quintana.
