ARCHIVED - Alicante police break up illegal party of 100 people at villa in Mutxamel
The illegal party was being held in a rented villa in Mutxamel in L'Alcantí comarca of Alicante province, 11 km from the city.
Police shut down an illegal party at a villa in Mutxamel in Alicante province during the early hours of Sunday morning, June 6, where they discovered around 100 people - none of them social distancing or wearing masks.
All the party goers at the property in Calle Rosinets de Monnegre were identified and denounced for failing to comply with anti-Covid measures, while the person who had leased the villa was fined and the rental contract terminated.
Around 30 officers from both Alicante city and San Juan brought the party to an abrupt end after a tip off from a neighbour.
Upon arrival at the house, they found a packed house - exceeding the 10 people allowed - before the owner eventually appeared and explained the property had been rented until Tuesday, June 8. The contract was immediately terminated.
Finally, once all the party goers were sanctioned, four people were reported for violating the Public Safety Law, disobedience and disrespect for authority.
The organisers of the party face "serious offences" and a fine of €30,001 to €60,000.
