ARCHIVED - Andalusia reports 19 deaths and 2,368 new coronavirus cases: Covid update 14 April
No Covid data was published in the Spanish region of Andalusia on Tuesday due to technical difficulties.
The Andalusian health authorities have reported 2,368 new coronavirus cases and 19 deaths on Wednesday (14 April). The 14-day accumulated incidence rate has fallen slightly to 223 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, down 2.3 points from Monday but up 59.6 points from last Wednesday.
The rate of new infections has increased noticeably within the last week.
The number of new positive cases was down 824 from Monday, when there were 3,192 (no data is provided on Sundays, so figures released on Mondays are for 48 hours), while the number of deaths was considerably higher than the three reported on Monday.
Seville is the province to report the highest number of new cases with 579, followed by Granada with 479, Jaen with 342, Córdoba with 286, Cádiz with 200, Málaga with 196, Almería with 152 and Huelva with 134.
Seville reported six fatalities, Cádiz three, Almería, Córdoba and Málaga two each and Granada and Jaen one each.
There were 1,486 coronavirus patients in Andalusian hospitals on Wednesday morning, 13 more than on Tuesday and 152 more than last Wednesday, and 290 of them were in ICUs, seven less than on Tuesday and one less than last Wednesday.
