ARCHIVED - Decrease in mortgage borrowing of 21 percent during July in Murcia region
This is better than could have been anticipated given the disruption following the covid lockdown
The number of mortgages constituted in the Region of Murcia during July was 713, 21.4% less than in July 2019, with a capital loaned of 61.8 million euros. This represents a decrease of - 14.9 compared to the previous year, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics and is better than might have been expected taking into consideration the disruption caused by the covid lockdown.
The total number of properties transferred in July in the Region of Murcia was 1,133, with a borrowed capital of 98.3 million euros, of which 55 were rustic properties and 713 urban residential properties, 15 plots of land and 350 "other urban ".
The Autonomous Communities with the highest number of mortgages constituted on dwellings in July were Andalusia (4,598), Catalonia (4,400) and the Community of Madrid (3,833).
The communities in which most capital was lent for the constitution of mortgages on homes are Comunidad de Madrid (733.7 million euros), Catalonia (732.2 million) and Andalusia (608.4 million).
The only Autonomous Community with a positive annual variation rate in the capital borrowed is the Basque Country (32.6%). Aragón (–3.3%) and Canarias (–8.2%) registered the smallest annual decreases. The greatest decreases occurred in Castilla – La Mancha (–44.5%), Galicia (–33.6%) and Cantabria (–33.2%).
The only Autonomous Community with a positive annual variation rate in the number of home mortgages is the Basque Country (38.4% 1), and the smallest decreases were in the Canary Islands (–2.0%) and the Valencian Community (–15.4 %). On the other hand, Castilla – La Mancha (–42.8%), Galicia (–40.2%) and Comunidad de Navarra (–37.1%) presented the greatest decreases.
