ARCHIVED ARTICLEARCHIVED - August 19 and 20 Cabo de Pop festival in Cabo de Palos
Live music, lighthouse tours and a host of water sports and other activities at various locations in Cabo de Palos
The environmentally sustainable Cabo de Pop music festival returns to Cabo de Palos on August 19 and 20 after a two-year absence due to the Covid pandemic, with the acts Compro Oro, Espiricom, Perdón, Shaman Shaman, Cromo and Adiós Noviembre having confirmed that they will be taking part.
This is not a single-venue festival but one which takes place in various locations in and around Cabo de Palos, including the area outside the lighthouse, and as well as the musical events there are also a host of water sports activities including dive initiations, kayak routes, paddle surf, snorkelling and sailing. There are also children’s entertainments and workshops and beach volleyball and beach tennis “palas” tournaments.
The program also includes cultural visits to Cabo de Palos and the interpretation centre, foodtrucks, an arts and crafts market, an Instagram photography competition, skate surfing and workshops for youngsters.
There are even guided tours of the lighthouse itself: for further information click here.
The event coincides with the local fiestas of Cabo de Palos and it is expected that up to 1,000 people will attend, matching pre-pandemic numbers.
The registration period for all the activities offered opened on July 1 at cabodepop.com, where the full schedule for the festival can be consulted.
