Camposol resident's casual golf group tees off with over 800 members
Facebook group connects golfers across Murcia and Alicante for friendly games
A Camposol resident has created a thriving online community for golfers who just want a casual round without the commitment of joining a club or society.
Henry Kelshaw set up The Golf Club Murcia 25 on Facebook after buying a holiday home on Camposol two years ago. As a self-described "very average golfer", he wanted to play when he was over but didn't fancy going solo or signing up for formal membership anywhere.
His solution was simple: create a group where people could find golf partners for informal games. What started as a practical fix for his own situation has ballooned into something much bigger. In just eight months, the group has attracted 826 members across the Region of Murcia and Orihuela Costa, stretching all the way up to La Zenia.
Games are being arranged regularly and the group includes both male and female golfers of all abilities.
For Henry and the other golfers, it's been a chance to get out on the course with new people and make connections in the area.
