ARCHIVED - Changes to Covid restrictions in the Valencia region and Alicante province from Monday
Sports centre, gyms, swimming pools may re-open and bars can open the interior of their premises
All measures come into effect from March 15 and remain in place until April 12.
On Thursday (March 11) the president of the Valencia region (the three provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón), Ximo Puíg, announced the latest changes to restrictions in the region as agreed in the latest meeting of the Interdepartmental committee for Prevention and Action against Covid-19.
Hospitality: The hospitality industry may open exterior terraces to 100% of their capacity and the interior of their premises to one third of total capacity. Premises must continue to close at 6:00 p.m.
Only four people may sit at a table and masks must be worn during the periods when food or drink is not actually being consumed. Service at the bar itself is prohobited and all diners must remain seated within the restaurant area, not at the bar.
Sporting facilities:
The sports centers and gyms of the region can re-open from next Monday. Gyms, pavilions, sports centers, swimming pools and sports facilities can open to a maximum of 30% capacity and will maintain all security measures.
Size of groups:
The maximum number allowed to gather in a public space is four people. Gatherings in private dwellings are limited to the domestic bubble.
Ceremonies: Up to 20 people may attend open-air ceremonies and 15 in closed spaces, with a maximum of one third of the capacity of a venue.
Leisure education:
Leisure education venues may resume activities to a maximum of 30% with groups of no more than 10 people.
The perimeter closure remains in place; the curfew continues from 22:00; shops must continue to close by 20:00.
