ARCHIVED - Covid cases remain steady across the region of Valencia: Alicante Covid update May 4
127 new cases in the region of Valencia and 39 in Alicante
The most recent daily Covid update published by the regional government on Tuesday (May 4) reports similar cases to those of last week with 127 new cases in the region of Valencia and 39 in the province of Alicante.
The latest official bulletin shows that only 2 of the 9 coronavirus-related deaths in the region were in the province of Alicante. There are currently 59 people hospitalized with Covid in the province, of whom 13 are in intensive care.
In addition, the latest number of active coronavirus cases reported in the region is 3,419 and the total number of Covid patients in Valencia’s hospitals is 233.
The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days in the Comunidad Valenciana is still the lowest in Spain at 43.24, according to the latest national update.
The national rate has decreased to 213.9 and the incidence rate in several Spanish regions looks to be decreasing slowly. However, the Basque Country (491.01), Madrid (343.24), Navarra (327.13), Aragón (296.68), La Rioja (270.39) and Cataluña (263.56) are all still in the extreme risk zone: incidence rate of over 250.
