ARCHIVED - Covid-19 infection rate remains stable in Andalusia on Thursday 25th
While the third wave appears to be coming under control in most parts of Spain, the regional authorities in the southern region are reluctant to ease restrictions just yet for fear of a repeat of past increases in infections
A total of 1,256 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across Andalusia on Thursday (25 February) according to the Regional Ministry of Health and Families.
Over the last 24 hours, the virus has also caused 58 deaths in the southern region, with the 14-day accumulated incidence rate dropping to 215.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Seville saw the greatest number of new cases, 267, followed by Málaga with 242, Granada with 194, Almería with 191, Cádiz with 164, Córdoba with 83, Huelva with 59 and Jaen with 56.
Cádiz, Málaga and Seville were the provinces with the most deaths reported (16, 13 and 12 respectively), while Córdoba registered 6, Almería 5, Jaen and Granada 3 each and Huelva none.
