ARCHIVED - Cultural programme in Alhama de Murcia: January, February and March
Concerts, theatre, art exhibitions and more in Alhama de Murcia
The Town Hall in Alhama de Murcia has revealed its cultural programme for the first three months of 2022, with a wide selection of exhibitions, theatrical performances, music and monologues planned for January, February and March.
Although some of the activities like the monologues and theatre performances are aimed at Spanish speakers, other events, including the concerts and exhibitions, are universal and can be thoroughly enjoyed by non-Spanish speakers.
- Friday January 21, 8pm: Watercolour exhibition ‘Callejeando’ by José María Cánovas Vera at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum until February 20.
- Monday January 24: exhibition about Spaniards in Nazi concentration camps ‘Deportación, memoria y educación. Españoles en los campos de concentración nazis’ at the Casa de Cultura. The exibition will be in place until January 29 and the opening hours are 9.30am to 2pm and 4.30pm to 7.30pm. For group reservations contact 968 630 776.
- Thursday January 27, World Holocaust Day, 7pm: tribute to the deportees from Alhama de Murcia at the Garden of the Martyrs (jardín de los Mártires).
- Thursday January 27, World Holocaust Day, 7.30pm: conference about Spaniards in Nazi concentration camps by professor Alfonso Cerón Aledo at the Casa de Cultura.
- Saturday January 29, 8pm: ‘Perki Lusionist’ concert at the Velasco Theatre. Tickets can be picked up at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum. Limited capacity and Covid-19 protocol.
- Saturday February 26, 8pm: prize-winning adult theatre performance ‘Despedida de la casada’ by the company Doble K Teatro at the Velasco Theatre. Tickets cost ten euros and can be purchased at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Sunday February 27, 6pm: award-winning family and childrens’ theatre show ‘Nube nube’ by the company Periferia Teatro at the Casa de la Cultura. Tickets cost five euros and can be purchased at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Wednesday March 2, 7.30pm: exhibition and conference ‘Una educación para el siglo XXI: Novela Gráfica en el aula’ by Vicente Funes Hernández. The exhibition will be on display at the Casa de la Cultura until March 18.
- Friday March 4: exhibition by Juan Pedro Esteban Nicolás on display at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum until March 27.
- Wednesday, March 9, 8pm: book presentation ‘Lilith y sus aventuras eróticas’ by Eliana Márquez Moreno at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Saturday March 12, 8pm: ‘La voz del Becario’ monologue by Trino García, J.M. Martínez and Fran Fernández at the Velasco Theatre. Tickets cost ten euros and can be purchased at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Sunday March 13, 6pm: family and childrens’ theatre show ‘Juego de sillas’ by the company CalTeatre at the Casa de la Cultura. Tickets cost five euros and can be purchased at the Los Baños Archaeological Museum.
- Saturday March 26, 8pm: Choral concert in memory of Celia Cánovas Gil at the San Lázaro church.
- Thursday March 31: exhibition ‘Pirograbados’ by Antonio Pérez Bayonas at El Pósito until April 24.

Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.
The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.
The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.
The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
