ARCHIVED - Cumulative incidence rate increases slightly in the region of Valencia: Alicante Covid update April 15
220 new cases in the region of Valencia and 65 in the province of Alicante
The most recent daily update posted on Thursday (April 15) by the regional government reports 220 new Covid cases in the Comunidad Valenciana and 65 in the province of Alicante, slightly above the current 7-day average of new daily cases, which is 45.71.
In Alicante, one more death caused by coronavirus was reported in Thursday’s update.
Regarding the province’s hospitals, there are currently 133 Covid patients, of whom 24 are in intensive care.
Meanwhile, the total number of covid-related deaths in the region of Valencia was 5, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 7,241.
The cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in the past 14 days in the region of Valencia has increased to 35.57 since the previous update and the national incidence rate reported a slightly larger increase in the past week: from 174.52 on April 8 to the current figure of 202.72.
The Spanish regions with the lowest rates, after the Comunidad Valenciana, are the Balearics (58.81) and the Region of Murcia (63.92). On the other hand, the regions with the highest incidence rates are Navarra (436.78), the Basque Country (358.93) and Madrid (348.53).
