ARCHIVED - D*na Restaurant Festival returns to Denia: December 3 to 6
The annual event celebrates the "richness of local gastronomy" in the Marina Alta, Alicante province
After a break forced by the pandemic, the renowned gastronomic D*na Restaurant Festival returns to Denia from December 3 to 6, taking to the streets to support bars, restaurants and shops.
The festival, organised by the Denia Town Council and Valencian Tourist Board and headlined by the 3 Michelin star chef Quique Dacosta, will this year pay tribute to the restaurants and "entire fabric of the town's hotel and catering industry".
The aim of the fourth annual four-day event is to "revitalise the entire agri-food and tourism sector" and to "create a space where the public can once again meet up and enjoy the gastronomic experience," said the town hall, adding that the festival also offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase Marina Alta's gastronomy.
Michelin star chef Dacosta explained that D*na Restaurant was launched to bring haute cuisine to the streets of Denia, and "generate a dialogue between chefs, restaurateurs and the public".
Over the course of the four days, restaurants, bars, ice cream parlours, bakeries and shops in the agri-food sector will offer an array of menus and dishes created using only locally-sourced produce, as well as other complementary activities.
And once again, two large stages will be located in the town centre hosting live cooking sessions courtesy of national and local chefs.
There will be culinary demonstrations and showcookings, talks, workshops, musical performances, presentations and tasting sessions.
Visitors will also be able to pick up tips from international chefs from cities such as Burgos, Parma, Bergen, Ostersund, Cochabambacities, all members of the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Network.
