ARCHIVED - Earthquake in Murcia yesterday was strong enough to be felt
There were two earthquakes in the Region of Murcia yesterday, one of them registering up to 2.4 on the Richter scale
An earthquake was recorded near the city of Murcia yesterday morning, Sunday October 10, measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale. The tremor took place at 11.58am and its epicentre was located at a depth of 10 kilometres, near the village of El Palmar to the south of the city.
Residents reported that the earthquake could be felt in the districts of the Costera Sur. This was the strongest of two earthquakes in the Murcia region yesterday, as a smaller quake measuring 1.7 on the Richter scale happened at 10.41am near Lorca.
