The Cartagena camp ground will be entirely energy self-sufficient within a year
The urban planning department in Cartagena has granted a licence to the El Portús Naturist Campsite to install and connect a 100 kilowatt photovoltaic solar installation to the electricity grid, meaning that the property will soon be totally energy self-sufficient.Cartagena Mayor Ana Belén Castejón confirmed this this week that the owners have already been given permission to set up the solar equipment in the car park. The campsite will invest 132,212.13 euros in the panels, which will be installed on the existing pergola. The Cartagena City Council has given the facility a year to carry out the work.“The most important challenge of our time is to adapt our way of life to renewable energy systems and from the City Council we are going to do everything in our power to facilitate the installation of this type of infrastructure,” Ms Castejón concluded.Image: Ayuntamiento de Cartagena
