Date Published: 02/06/2023ARCHIVED ARTICLE -Extra guided tours and escape room dates as the Ancient Egypt and Cleopatra season in Cartagena proves extremely popular
The main exhibition of Treasures of Ancient Egypt is at the Roman Augusteum in Cartagena
The ongoing season of exhibitions and visits related to Cleopatra and Ancient Egypt in Cartagena are proving so popular that the local tourism authorities have decided to add new dates and times to the already busy schedule for the month of June.
The “Tesoros de Egipto” exhibition is running in the Augusteum in Cartagena until September 30 and over 8,000 visitors saw the display in each of April and May. Alongside the exhibition are various other activities including the Mystery of Tutankhamun escape room experience and guided tours, and it is for these that extra dates have been added.
While the main exhibition is open every day of the week except Monday, with optional guided tours available, the Mystery of Tutankhamun escape room, which is intended for children aged 6 to 12, is now available on Fridays at 17.00 and on Sundays at 11.30 (price 8 euros). Children taking part will go down 5 metres under the ground and learn about Anicent Egypt through solving riddles and puzzles, escaping from one room to another as they decipher the curse of the gods.
Meanwhile, the “Tras las huellas de Cleopatra” guided tour (In the Footsteps of Cleopatra) is being held on Saturdays at 11.00, starting at the Augusteum (price 13 euros). Bookings should be made through cartagenapuertodeculturas.com (telephone 968 500093).
