ARCHIVED - Famous Seville Book Fair starting soon: October 21 to November 1
Book-lovers in Andalucía will be able to immerse themselves in the literary world of the Seville Book Fair
The Seville Book Fair is returning to the Plaza Nueva square this October after being cancelled during 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2021 Book Fair was originally planned for May, but the event was postponed until autumn and the fair will be open to the public from October 21 to November 1.
This year’s slogan is ‘A life on each page’, alluding to the possibility of living different lives through books, and Covid restrictions will be in place for visitors. In addition to lots of book stalls, avid readers will be able to enjoy several activities, including book signings and storytelling sessions.
Seville’s book fair has been recognised with a National Prize for the Promotion of Reading and a City Medal for its work surrounding literature. The fair represents the main event of the literary sector in Andalucía and is also one of the most prominent on the national calendar.
Around 50% of the funding is supplied by the city council in Seville and the event is organised each year by the Book Fair Association.
