ARCHIVED - Four injured after car overturns in San Vicente del Raspeig
One of the passengers is in a serious condition following the crash near the university roundabout in Alicante province
Four people have been injured, one seriously, after the car they were travelling in careered off the road and overturned at the University of San Vicente del Raspeig roundabout.
A man and a woman in the back of the car were both trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by firefighters, whilst the driver and front seat passenger were able to get out of the mangled vehicle on their own. All four were taken to Alicante General Hospital, with one said to be in a serious condition.
The accident happened at around 6am on Tuesday morning, October 12, at the A-70 exit from the university, although the cause of the crash is not yet known.
A command unit, heavy urban fire engine, rescue van, and a team of eight firefighters from San Vicente del Raspeig station were involved in rescuing the trapped passengers and clearing the scene, supported by Local Police, the Guardia Civil and SAMU medics.
