Several folk bands from the Region of Murcia and from the rest of Spain will be performing at the festival
The Cartagena Folk Festival is returning to the municipality for its 11th edition, after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Entry to the festival, celebrated on December 11 and 12, is completely free and several local and national folk music groups will be performing, including the Cartagena group SUR and all-woman band Mujeres con Raíz. The full line-up is as follows:
This year, the musical groups will have two different stages to perform on at the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Culture Centre in Cartagena.
According to the head of the Culture department, the Cartagena Folk Festival is one of the most important events in the Region of Murcia for folk music, as it exemplifies current trends in the reworking of traditional folk music and provides support to professionals in this sector.
