Aemet has issued a yellow cold alert in inland areas of Alicante province
The week has got off to a frosty start in Alicante province with the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issuing a yellow cold alert and forecasting frost.
Cloudy or clear skies are expected throughout the day and temperatures are not likely to change significantly, although frost is expected further inland.
In Alicante city, a minimum of 5 degrees Celsius is forecast, with highs of 15 degrees, although in Alcoy, Mercury is likely to drop to zero.
The yellow warning continues into Tuesday for much of the interior of Alicante province.
