ARCHIVED - Full steam ahead for Cabezo de Torres 2022 Carnival in Murcia
The outlying district of the municipality of Murcia is known for its Carnival celebrations
Carnival associations in Cabezo de Torres have announced that the 2022 Cabezo de Torres Carnival will go ahead next February, with virtually no Covid restrictions.
The events and ceremonies will all go ahead with relative normality, although the indoor celebrations will require attendees to show a Covid certificate, in accordance with newest Covid rules approved by the High Court in Murcia this Friday.
This decision means that the 30 ‘comparsas’, around 1,000 people in total, can go ahead with the design and construction of 2022’s costumes, which will be worn in the different parades as well as in the costume contest.
The outlying district in Cabezo de Torres is known for hosting the largest Carnival celebrations in the municipality of Murcia, which includes the capital city, and after last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic, February’s festivities are sure to be bigger and better than ever.
Two other local councils in the Region have also announced their intentions to go ahead with their 2022 Carnivals, including Cartagena and Águilas.
