ARCHIVED - Incidence rate in the region of Valencia slowly decreasing: Alicante Covid update May 7
The Valencia region is approaching the milestone of two million vaccines administered
175 new cases in the region of Valencia and 68 in the province of Alicante within the latest 24 hour period.
As of Friday evening the Valencian regional health authorities had administered a total of 1,943,220 doses of coronavirus vaccines. By provinces: 227,984 in Castellón, 714,973 in Alicante and 1,000,263 in Valencia.

The official bulletin posted by the regional government on May 7 reported a slightly increased number of Covid cases across the Comunidad Valenciana, with 175 new coronavirus cases in the region, of which 68 are in the province of Alicante.
Including the number from the latest official report (68), the daily average in Alicante for the past seven days is 47.14. Friday’s update also detailed that there are currently 52 people hospitalized due to Covid in the province, of whom 12 are in intensive care.
A further 6 covid-related deaths were reported in the region of Valencia in the most recent update, 5 of which were in the province of Alicante.
Although the decrease is only small, the cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the past 14 days in the Comunidad Valenciana is back down to 40.54 after reaching a peak of 44.47 on April 29.
Meanwhile, the national incidence rate has dropped to under 200 in the latest update.
The Spanish regions with the highest incidence rates are The Basque Country (447.56), Madrid (317.56) and Navarra (296.13), so the rate in Valencia remains very low; the lowest in the country.
