ARCHIVED - July 10 and 11 Free concerts by Gunhild Carling & The Carling Family Jazz Band in La Manga del Mar Menor
The two events in La Manga are included in the 24th San Javier Jazz Festival
This year San Javier Jazz offers fans two free concerts in La Manga by the great Swedish singer and multi-instrumentalist Gunhild Carling, an exceptional artist who, in addition to her brilliance on the trombone, her main instrument, plays trumpet, bagpipes, flute, banjo, double bass, guitar, piano, ukulele, oboe, harp, and harmonica, and is a highly competent tap dancer.
Influenced by Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Billie Holiday, her career milestones include a concert before King Carl Gustav of Sweden in 2013, celebrating his 70th birthday, and her adaptations of pop music themes to jazz with the well-known group Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox.
Her vintage style, her personal charisma and the vital energy she exudes on stage have made her a versatile artist admired throughout the world, and she appears in San Javier with her family, the carling Family Jazz Band.
The free concerts at Puerto Tomás Maestre in La Manga del Mar Menor begin at 22.30, with audience numbers limited.
