ARCHIVED - July 31 Artisan market at the Sanctuary of Santa Eulalia outside Totana
The market is held in the foothills of the Sierra Espuña 7 kilometres from Totana
The monthly artisan market and fair at the sanctuary of Santa Eulalia, in the mountains outside Totana, is being held on Sunday July 31 2022 in the atmospheric setting of the gardens of the sanctuary.
This beautiful location is home to only a limited number of stalls, but it's worth making a trip up to even if just to take a picnic to the recreation area opposite the sanctuary and see the spectacular views out across the flatlands of Totana and the Guadalentín valley below.
Approximately 20 registered regional artisans offer the best of local produce including handmade ceramics, local organic honey, jewellery and wood fired bread. The sanctuary itself is a calming and spiritual place, nestling in the folds of the surrounding hills.
The market opens from 10.00 to 14.00, with entry free of charge.
Just across the road from the sanctuary is the Via Crucis, a sculptural walk which follows the stations of the cross, and the location also offers the chance to just sit beneath the trees with a good book and enjoy the open air. It is also an easy drive on to Aledo and the pine forests of Sierra Espuña.
