ARCHIVED - July 8 Juan Perro in concert at the Fuerte de Navidad in the harbour of Cartagena
An intimate event at this privileged Cartagena venue including the boat trip out to the fortress
After their pandemic-enforced cancellation in 2020 and 2021 the annual summer concerts return in 2022 to the fortress of Fuerte de Navidad in the harbour of Cartagena, with ticket-holders travelling out to the venue from the city centre on the tourist boat.
These events are renowned for their intimate and welcoming atmosphere (audience numbers are limited to 200) as well as the privileged venue of the 18th-century fortress which guarded the entrance to the natural harbour which has made Cartagena such an important naval and trading base throughout its long history.
On the bill this year are three extremely well-known acts, the dates having been announced as follows:
Friday June 17: Elefantes, a rock group who reached the peak of their popularity in the early years of this century, are making a comeback this year and are presenting acoustic versions of some of their best loved numbers from the last 25 years. The concert begins at 22.00 with the tourist boat leaving the city centre at 20.30. Tickets are available online here at 50 euros.
Friday July 1: Raimundo Amador, the legendary flamenco singer and guitarist, presents his show "60 Aniversario, Directo en casa". Here he mixes flamenco with blues, jazz and rock, showpiecing his brilliance as an individual musician as well as the variety of musical styles he applies it to. The concert begins at 22.00 with the tourist boat leaving the city centre at 20.30. Tickets are available online here at 50 euros.
Friday July 8: Juan Perro, formerly lead singer with the legendary 80s band Radio Futura and now a hugely popular solo performer, combining the roles of bluesman, troubadour and jester on stage. His concert at the Fuerte de Navidad also begins at 22.00 with the tourist boat leaving the city centre at 20.30. Tickets are available online here at 50 euros.
