ARCHIVED - July 9 Free guided tour in Spanish of the old town centre of Mazarron
Learn about the history of Mazarrón through some of the most iconic buildings of the town
This tour offers a chance to learn about the history of Mazarrón while walking through the streets of the old town and seeing the most important and emblematic buildings. These include the three main churches, the area around the late medieval castle built by the Marquises of Vélez, the Ateneo building and the exterior of the impressive Casas Consistoriales, the old Town Hall.
These monumental structures were made possible by the wealth brought to Mazarrón by the mining in the mountains behind the town.
The tour lasts approximately one hour and those joining will need their own vehicle: the route returns to the starting point, where vehicles are left.
The exact time of the afternoon tour will be communicated after registration, which is available online here or here or through the tourist office in Puerto de Mazarrón (telephone 968 594426, email oficinaturismomazarron@gmail.com).
The wearing of facemasks is recommended and participants should bring drinking water and wear appropriate footwear. Those registering must give ID details, and under no circumstances may people join without prior registration.
