June 10 Palmera Fest art, culture and music festival in Los Alcazares
Buy vintage clothes, discover new art and enjoy vegan food at this Los Alcázares art festival
On Saturday June 10, Los Alcázares will host Palmera Fest, an underground art, culture and music festival that aims to bring together “emerging and consolidated art, the most groundbreaking ideas and the most interesting proposals on the cultural scene”.
The festival starts at 5pm and runs until midnight. It will take place in the large, green area surrounding the Las Claras Cultural Centre in Los Alcázares, and entrance will be totally free of charge.
There will be a market with more than 30 stands, a stage for concerts and two areas for workshops and talks, as well as a bar with food and drink, including a vegan option.
The market area will feature the latest trends in illustration, fashion design and decoration. There will also be stands selling vintage clothes and restored furniture and a space for Libros Traperos, a bookshop and social project that helps people at risk of exclusion.
There will also be talks on sustainability and ecology related to the Mar Menor and DIY, as well as free workshops on ceramics and textile printing.
Music will be provided by DJ sets throughout the day.
It is a project promoted by local artist Greta Bungle that aims to bring the work of other artists to the public in a conscious and respectful way, “creating synergies between artists and the community and generating a friendly and fun space”.
