Concerts, a tribute to Paco de Lucía and a flamenco-gastronomy fair at various venues in the city of Lorca
The city of Lorca is inaugurating a new international flamenco festival between June 10 and June 12, the intention being that this will become an annual event.
The “Quiero Flamenco” festival will be held at the Teatro Guerra, the Casa del Artesano, the Plaza Arcoiris and Lorca castle, and will feature artists such as Duquende, Farru, Antonio Sánchez, Josemi Carmona, Antonio Carmona, Piraña, David de Jacoba and Chonchi Heredia, the highlight being a tribute event dedicated to the great guitarist Paco de Lucía.
The concerts and events scheduled during the three days are as follows:
Friday June 10
10.00: A dramatized version of the children’s novel “Un encuentro muy flamenco” in the Parque Almenara shopping centre.
16.00: Live music from the Josemi Carmona Sextet and Chonchi Heredia in the Plaza Arcoiris. Tickets 22 euros.
22.00: Concerts by Rycardo Moreno and Duquende at Lorca castle. Tickets 22 euros.
Saturday June 11
11.00: Flamenco guitar masterclass given by Rycardo Moreno.
12.30: Cajón percussion masterclass by Israel Suárez " Piraña".
16.00: Music from Lucas Carmona, Antonio Carmona and Funkuba in the Plaza Arcoiris. Tickets 22 euros.
22.00: Paco de Lucía tribute concert in the Teatro Guerra featuring Josemi Carmona, Farru, Piraña, Antonio Sánchez, Antonio Serrano, David de Jacoba and Julián Heredia. Tickets from 22 euros.
Sunday June 12
11.00: Conference/seminar in the Casa del Artesano entitled "La búsqueda y el compromiso de Paco de Lucía".
10.00 to 14.00: Flamenco Gastronomy Fair in the Plaza Arcoiris, with stands offering food and flamenco instruments.
12.30: Also in the Plaza Arcoiris, Naike Ponce performs his work “Vivir”.
