Live in Alhama or Condado and want an electric car charging point in your house? You could get 600 euros off...
Property owners in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia could get 200 euros a year off the cost of installing green energy solutions in their homes for 3 years

If you own a property in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, which includes the Condado de Alhama urbanisation, you could get financial aid from the Town Hall to install charging point for an electric vehicle or solar panels to your home or business.
With petrol and energy prices on the rise, many homeowners are looking for ways to cut costs in the long term, including having an electric car which they can charge at home or generating their own energy from the Murcia Region’s 300+ hours of sunshine each year.
As part of its commitment to reducing the effects of climate change, Alhama Town Hall is offering a 50% rebate on the Real Estate Tax (Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles or IBI) for homes and businesses which install, for the first time, solar panels or recharging points for electric vehicles for self-consumption, up to a maximum of 200 euros per year.
How does it work?
This measure is granted to those solar panels or electric car charging points that have been installed as of January 1, 2022 and will be reflected in your tax bill for 2023. It will be applicable during the three tax periods (years) following that in which the work was completed.
For example, a home that has completed the installation of these green energy technologies during the year 2022 will be entitled to the IBI rebate during the years 2023, 2024 and 2025. And those that do so during 2023 will benefit during the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.
How to apply for the green tax rebate
To benefit from this discount on the installation of solar panels and electric vehicle charging points in Alhama, residents must apply before March 1, 2023. As such, the last day to register your application is February 28, 2023. Failure to comply with this deadline will result in the loss of the right to the rebate during the tax period immediately following the completion of the works and installations.
In order to facilitate the administrative procedures, the Town Council provides applicants with a pdf form (in Spanish) to be submitted at the Town Hall Registry Office.
It should be noted that this rebate is only available if the work was undertaken voluntarily, and not as a mandatory requirement for that type of building, and if it has all its planning permission and legalisation in order.
What if I live in a flat?
It’s not only houses and villas that can benefit, but also apartment blocks which install shared solar panels or vehicle recharging points, but only the flats and premises linked to the installation will be eligible.
For this purpose, the rebate application must be accompanied by documentation showing the list of owners participating in the installation.
Both rebates are compatible with the other discounts associated with this tax.
Furthermore, all these measures are in addition to the one already being applied by the Consistory of a 90% discount on the Construction, Installations and Works Tax (ICIO) for the installation of solar panels.
