ARCHIVED - Lorca Christmas lights to be turned on this Saturday: December 4
Singer Gisele will also be giving a musical performance at the ceremony in Lorca, Murcia
The Christmas lighting ceremony in the municipality of Lorca will take place this Saturday December 4, when a 20 metre Christmas tree is also going to be installed near the Óvalo fountain.
Popular singer Gisela is going to be performing at the event with her ‘Concert Kids’ musical performance.
From 7.30pm on Saturday, around 230 LED festive arches will light up across Lorca and its outlying districts, and the head of the Festivities department noted that the 20-metre Christmas tree is expected to be the star of the show, with over 20,000 miniature Christmas lights illuminating the tree.
In addition, the decorations in the city will be completely different to those from last year, with the exception of Calle Corredera, where the large silver and gold Christmas baubles will be installed once again, at the request of the local businesses on this street. Lighting is also going to be placed in areas such as Camino Marín, Plaza de La Estrella, Avenida de Europa, Avenida Fuerzas Armadas and area surrounding the university campus.
