ARCHIVED - Los Alcazares offers discounted property tax for residents with solar power
Los Alcázares residents who install solar panels can enjoy half-priced property tax for three years

The Town Hall in Los Alcázares have announced that residents who have ‘green’ homes will receive a 50% discount on their property tax for the next three years.
The initiative aims to encourage homeowners to instal solar panels on their houses and reduce their carbon footprint all while saving money. For the first three years after installation, residents will only have to pay half of their annual property tax, known as IBI (Impuesto sobre Bienes Inmuebles) in Spanish.
According to the municipal Mayor, this measure, which comes into effect in 2022, is part of the plan to turn Los Alcázares into a more sustainable town while providing economic benefits for those who contribute to reducing climate change.
Those interested in installing solar panels should contact the Urban Development department of the Town Hall.
