The thief was subject of a national detention order with a history of previous crimes
The Guardia Civíl of the Region of Murcia has carried out an investigation in the Puerto de Mazarrón that has culminated in the arrest of an experienced criminal as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery at a house in Mazarrón and another crime of resistance and disobedience towards agents of authority.
The now detainee - who has more than thirty records for similar crimes – was the subject of a judicial search and arrest warrant.
The investigation began when a resident from the Puerto de Mazarrón reported that he had been the victim of a robbery inside a home he owned.
During the subsequent investigation the man was identified on video surveillance cameras and was shown as the person who had accessed the property on the day of the theft.
He was later located by a patrol while he was walking down a street in the town.
After realising that he had been recognised by the police the suspect fled on foot, throwing away several objects that he was carrying in a bag, allegedly stolen.
The man was finally caught and resisted arrest.
The individual - male, Spanish, 52 years old and a resident of Puerto de Mazarrón - was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of robbery with force and resistance and disobedience to agents of the authority. The arrested person, the effects recovered and the proceedings instructed are at the disposal of the Investigating Court of Totana.
