ARCHIVED - Manhunt after armed robbers hold up Costa Blanca bank at gunpoint
Two suspects threatened staff at a bank in La Torre, Valencia, before making off with more than 140,000 euros
The Guardia Civil in Valencia have launched a manhunt after a bank in La Torre was held up by armed robbers who threatened staff at gunpoint before fleeing with more than 140,000 euros.
According to police sources, two individuals waited until closing time at the branch on Avenida Real de Madrid, before forcing the main door with a crowbar just before 2pm on Friday January 7, wielding what's believed to have been a revolver.
After threatening and intimidating terrified employees with the firearm, the robbers grabbed the cash and ran off.
The case is being handled by the Guardia Civil in Paiporta, a town close to the village of La Torre, with officers currently focusing on identifying and locating the suspects.
There have been no reports of injuries.
