ARCHIVED - Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society donates over 2,500 euros to MABS San Javier
The San Javier cancer charity will benefit from the funds donated by the golfing society

The Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society, an association based on the Mar Menor Golf Resort in Murcia, has handed over its final cheque of the year to a worthy local cause, this time to MABS San Javier cancer support charity.
Between this generous donation of 2,611 euros, and the 2,300 euros they donated to the Evangélico Fútbol Club charity in Cartagena in October, raised nearly 5,000 euros in its charity fundraisers this year, between January and the end of September.
The Mar Menor Golf Society meets and plays on Wednesdays and Fridays for the benefit of Members and Guests. The Society has around 300 Members and plays a variety of golf competitions throughout the year.
Jill Leonard, Captain of the Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society, wished to extend “a big thank you to our very generous members” for their fundraising efforts. They will continue to raise money for local causes and plan to be able to donate even more in 2023.

The Mar Menor Frolic Golf Society
The Mar Menor Golf Society meets and plays on Wednesdays and Fridays for the benefit of Members and Guests. Mar Menor Golf Society has an elected Committee comprising Captain, Vice-Captain, Competition Secretary, Handicap Secretary, Secretary and Committee Members.
The society currently plays Mar Menor, La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda Riquelme, Saurines de la Torre, and Condado de Alhama. Guests are welcome to play if there are spare tee times available.
The Society generally has around 300 Members and plays a variety of golf competitions throughout the year. There are major competitions including Captains Day, Captains Charity day and the Society Championship, as well as the regular weekly competitions. The society uses handicap software to maintain the Society handicaps for all our Members.
As well as the golf as there is the usual social scene at the 19th hole in the Hotel spike bar when prizes are presented. There is an annual formal dinner for Captains day.
The society also arranges an annual golfing break which is popular with the Members.
