ARCHIVED - March 26 Guided tour of two historic mines in Sierra Minera
The mines of Las Matildes and La Mina Blanca are recognized sites of historical heritage
This guided tour is entitled “Las Damas Blancas de la Sierra Minera” (The White Ladies of the Sierra Minera) and is taking place as part of the festival of local customs and traditions in El Beal.
The walking route includes the Rambla and mine of Las Matildes, a steriles pool and the Segunda Primavera and Mina Blanca mines, which are of great interest on account of their Cornish-style architecture and have been declared items of global heritage. The tour ends with a visit to the museum of Mina Las Matildes.
Those wishing to join can register to do so online here, and should bring a snack and drinking water for the 4-hour tour which begins on March 26 at 9.30. The meeting point is the sports facilities in El Beal (see map) and although adequate walking footwear should be worn the route presents very little difficulty.
Booking is available online here.
