ARCHIVED - Mazarron hit and run victim dies after being thrown from moving car
The pensioner was robbed before being tossed from a moving minivan in Mazarrón
Shocking details have come to light in the case of a pedestrian who was seriously injured in a hit and run that has stunned the Murcia municipality of Mazarrón over the weekend. The latest police reports indicate that the 80-year-old man was thrown from a moving vehicle on Sunday morning, June 26 and although he was quickly transferred to the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital, he sadly died 24 hours later from a head injury.
According to eye-witnesses, the octogenarian was tossed from a minivan at La Isla, next to the la Ermita bar, which proceeded to run over him and flee from the scene in the direction of Bolnuevo.
The Guardia Civil who are investigating the case believe that the victim was tricked into getting into the car and subsequently robbed before his captors threw him out of the moving vehicle. Officers are now trying to track down the aggressors, who will face murder charges.
