Message in a bottle saves lives, have you got yours?

The Lions club of Mazarrón , keep valuable medical details where they can be found

Message In a Bottle :Emergency Data Link

Lions Message In a Bottle Emergency Data Link is free to the user and aims to make sure that vital medical details are positioned in a place which can be easily found by medical personnel attending an emergency call-out.

As a minimum it will save the Emergency Services valuable time identifying you and your emergency contacts, as well as giving a clear indication of medication being used (special or not)  or allergies and such complications.
The scheme is a potential life saver and provides peace of mind to users and their friends and families.
The Lions Message in a Bottle scheme is a simple idea, designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location - the Fridge.

All Emergency Services are made aware of the Lions Emergency Data Link scheme, and will look for the sticker with a cross on the rear of the front door and another on the Fridge door, The container contents can travel with patients and save much valuable time for the  doctor or hospital personnel in an emergency.

Message in a bottle saves lives, have you got yours?Bottles, which are free of charge, can usually be found in your local Chemist or Doctors Surgeries.   If you are unable to find a Bottle, please contact your local Lions Club  Mazarron Bahia Lions  www.lionsmazarron.org  or see us at Camposol B every Friday or  phone Lions Welfare 654874563

More about the project.
The project was started by Lions in the SW of Surrey  in the UK in 2003, and currently all 700+ clubs in UK are supplying bottles. Scotland recently recorded 40,000 bottles supplied in the western part of the country in one campaign.  This simple arrangement, now recognised and respected by all emergency services in the UK is believed to have saved hundreds of lives.

The scheme has been piloted in Mazarron by Mazarron Bahia Lions, all costs for bottles; printing and translation of the form have been met by Mazarron Bahia Lions. We are grateful for any contribution to help with this scheme, having so far supplied close to 3000 bottles. The scheme is currently being considered by Murcia Region for roll out across all of Murcia.
