ARCHIVED - Murcia farm worker dies after getting trapped in potato harvester in Orihuela
This is the second fatal work-related accident in the Valencia region within just 24 hours

A 35-year-old farm worker from Benial, Murcia, suffered catastrophic injuries and died after becoming trapped inside a potato harvesting machine in Senda Molina, Orihuela.
The horrific accident happened at around 9.30am on Thursday morning, June 23, and a colleague immediately contacted the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (Cicu), reporting that the victim was unconscious.
A SAMU ambulance and a Basic Life Support (BLS) unit were sent to the scene, but on arrival, the worker had succumbed to his injuries and medical teams could only confirm his death.
This is the second fatal accident at work in the Valencia region in just 24 hours. On Wednesday, a 62-year-old man died in Muro de Alcoy, Alicante, after becoming trapped under a steamroller on the CV-700.
According to the Cicu, the vehicle overturned at around 9am, crushing the deceased from the shoulders upwards.
A SAMU unit and two fire engines were sent despatched, but tragically, the victim died at the scene.
