ARCHIVED - Murcia invests more than 12 million into road infrastructure in North-west Murcia
A new 5-year contract has been signed for the maintenance and improvement of 30 roads in the north-western part of the region
The regional government in Murcia have invested over 12 million euros into the North-western Road Conservation Plan to improve 30 roads in the municipalities of Bullas, Calasparra, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín and Moratalla.
The objective is to guarantee the safety and quality of these roads, which add up to around 360 kilometres in total and are transited by thousands of people on a daily basis.
Two improvements which have already been announced are the re-tarmacking of the Variante de Barranda section of the RM-730, located in Caravaca de la Cruz, and the RM-714, located in Calasparra, within a 5-year contracted plan of works.
In addition, this plan also includes emergency road work in case of heavy rain, snow or accidents, as well as any necessary studies or information management that will support the maintenance, control and surveillance of these roads located in the north-eastern comarca of the Region of Murcia.
