ARCHIVED - Murcia local public holidays agreed for 2023
Murcia City Council has approved two local non-working days which will be added to a dozen regional 'red days' next year
The Governing Board of Murcia City Council has today approved (Friday November 25) the calendar of local holidays for 2023.
In addition to the 12 regional holidays already established, it has been given the go-ahead to make April 11 and September 12 non-working days in the municipality to celebrate the Bando de la Huerta spring festival and the Romería de la Fuensanta in honour of the patron saint, respectively.
These two dates are in addition to the following regional holidays: Monday January 2, New Year's Day; Friday January 6, Epiphany of the Lord; Thursday April 6, Maundy Thursday; Friday 7 April, Good Friday; Monday 1 May, Labour Day; Friday June 9, Day of the Region of Murcia, and Tuesday August 15, Assumption of the Virgin.
And then of course, there are the following national 'red days' in 2023: Thursday October 12, Spain's National Holiday; Wednesday November 1, All Saints' Day; Wednesday December 6, Spanish Constitution Day; Friday December 8, Immaculate Conception, and Monday December 25, Christmas Day.
