ARCHIVED - Murcia Weather: Yellow warning in place for Friday, July 30 but cooler this weekend
The Region of Murcia is on yellow alert for temperatures reaching 40 degrees

After a blisteringly hot July with some torrential rain also thrown into the mix, the Region of Murcia will experience scorching temperatures again at the end of this week before things cool off considerably as we enter into August.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow warning for high temperatures that could reach 40 degrees on Friday, July 30, in some parts of the Region, and the alert will remain in place between 2pm and 8pm in the Altiplano, Northwest, Guadalentín Valley, Lorca and Águilas and Vega del Segura.
Caravaca and Murcia are forecast to hit 40, with Lorca and Yecla at 39 degrees while Cartagena is expected to stay at a considerably more balmy 31. Friday is expected to dawn a little cloudy with some morning mists that will clear to blue skies as the day goes on, with gentle south-westerly winds.
Night-time temperatures will be a comfortable 20 degrees in most places.
On Saturday the thermometers will drop slightly before giving way to a decrease of more than 5 degrees on Sunday, when temperatures will not exceed 30 degrees in the Region of Murcia.
