Murcia weather forecast October 16-22: Heavy showers hit midweek and temperatures nosedive

This week, the weather in the Region of Murcia will be mostly sunny again, with frequent patches of clouds and a downpour to come one day midweek, while both minimum and maximum temperatures will drop by up to 8ºC over the course of the week.

Between Monday October 16 and Wednesday 18, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts “cloudy skies” and “light and occasional rainfall, more likely in the inland mountain ranges”, while coastal areas like San Javier and Mazarrón will be dry.

For these days, they also predict there will be “light south or southwesterly variable winds” and little change to temperatures, with minimums in northern and northwestern Murcia dropping to 13-15ºC and to 18-21ºC in the south and southeast of the Region. During the day, it will reach up into the high 20s and even the low 30s once again.

On Thursday October 19, however, the heavens are predicted to open when a rainy stormfront sweeps across the Region from the west, drenching the whole of Murcia from the afternoon onwards and bringing with it “occasional thundery” episodes.

It will be a windy day, too, with winds blowing from the southwest that are “strong with occasional very strong gusts in the Campo de Cartagena”.

From Friday October 20 and going into the weekend, the rain clouds will have passed by and it will dry out again, though it will still remain quite cloudy and temperatures – both at night and during the day – could begin to drop noticeably, especially obvious when it’s cooler first thing in the morning.
