Murcia weather forecast, afternoon of Friday September 15

There were dramatic thunderstorms this week in the Region of Murcia, with parts of the centre of the province experiencing deluges of rain and even hailstones.

This inclement weather looks set to continue into the weekend, with the worst of the electrical storms and heavy rainfall blasting through on Friday September 15.

For Thursday 14, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast “showers which may be locally heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail” from the afternoon onwards.

They further predict that there could be some “muddy deposits” with the occasional showers on the coast, such as in Águilas and Mazarrón. It will also be a fairly windy day, with intense easterly gusts especially affecting coastal areas.

Friday 15 will be less windy, but with many more showers and thunderstorms, and a strong chance of hail. The morning will also be quite foggy in places.

On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 it will still be very cloudy and there will be more occasional showers in the northwest of the Region, but it will remain warm and not be nearly so wet as Friday.

As we move into next week, the forecast is for more dry weather and sunshine, but also plenty of cloud cover and temperatures may begin to dip slightly too.
