ARCHIVED - New barefoot sensation trail in Pilar de la Horadada
The 'path at your feet' trail has been created at Río Seco in Pinar de Campoverde on the Vega Baja, Alicante province.
A new 'sensation trail' called La Senda a Tus Pies (the path at your feet) has been cerated at the natural area of Rio Seco in Pinar de Campoverde within Pilar de la Horadada municipality.
To make the most of the walk, a shoe rack has been placed at the beginning of the trail so that walkers can experience the sensation of the natural terrain on the soles of their feet, the different textures of wooden logs, remains of aquatic plants, tree bark, esparto grass, and sand.
Towards the end of the trail, the path passes through an area of clay mud, where foot baths have been placed so that walkers can clean up afterwards.
To truly appreciate the whole experience, a 'nature classroom' has been built in the old barbecue area, with information panels explaining the geological, biological and environmental characteristics of Rio Seco.
The aim of the trail and nature classroom is to "inform the public of the natural resources in Pilar de la Horadada, and bring nature as close as possible to residents and visitors".
