ARCHIVED - Noche Blanca shopping nights have been extended in Águilas to every Friday
The “White Night” shopping event in Águilas has been extended from one single night and will run every Friday in July.
Following the success of previous editions of the late-night shopping initiative, "La Noche Blanca", Águilas is hosting its special “White Night” shopping event every Friday in July, although some activities have been cancelled due to Covid-19.
"This is special for two reasons. Firstly because last year White Night could not be carried out due to the pandemic, and secondly because it will go from being a single White Night to four,” announced Commerce councillor, Ginés Desiderio Navarro in the press presentation.
The event, which is held on the streets Conde de Aranda, Rey Carlos III and Plaza de España, is aimed at rejuvenating the economy in the area and will include extended opening hours and special offers to encourage shopping, as well as shows, theatrical entertainment, a live raffle of gifts, music and street decorations.
On the final, extra special, "White Night" on Friday, which was scheduled for July 23, shops will be open even longer - 7 pm to 1 am - accompanied by multiple complementary activities.
However, due to the recent rise in Covid cases in the municipality, the final White Night has been postponed until a later, yet undetermined, date.
The shops will still be open, and any special offers still stand, but all complementary activities, including shows and musical performances, scheduled for July 23 and July 30 have been cancelled for the time being.
